Hooray Taxes! Hooray Lost Jobs! Hooray Debt!
Apparently, this type of thinking is what the Democratic leadership and 8 Republican "cap-and-traitors" want. 44 Democrats voted against the Waxman-Markey energy bill yesterday, but 8 Republicans (Bono-Mack, Castle, Kirk, Lance, LoBiondo, McHugh, Reichert, and Smith) helped cover them as the unprecedented bill passed the House on a 219-212 vote. The bill, which was pushed through with a 300-page amendment in the wee hours of the morning (or late evening if you are a night owl), is set to raise taxes and increase energy costs through the roof and destroy jobs. Great job, representatives in Washington. Not. Also, it seems to be a developing trend for the legislators in the Capitol to not read legislation before they vote to pass it. Hopefully, this bill dies in the Senate. I have heard from some sources that the bill will not get through and projections from others that it will be loaded with even more pork than the House version.
